UK-based R&B artist 80WON has released his new single, “Do You Mind,” a smooth and intimate offering that explores the anticipation of romantic attraction and the vulnerability that comes with making one’s intentions known.
Built around warm bass, understated percussion and a laid-back R&B groove, “Do You Mind” embraces a restrained musical approach that allows its lyrics and melodies to take centre stage. “I wanted the delivery to feel calm because the lyrics are really about being honest with someone. The song started as a freestyle, and once that hook came together, it just felt right. From there, the whole record started to grow around the feeling of wanting someone and being honest about your intentions.”
Do You Mind” continues 80WON’s exploration of contemporary R&B, bringing together smooth vocals, melodic songwriting and modern production with influences from R&B and Afropop.
