Independent artist and sound practitioner Erika Hartgrove returns with “Wild Abandoning,” an ethereal, genre-fluid track that explores personal autonomy, spiritual connection, and the ever-changing currents of life.
Written, recorded, and released through her label Primordial Vibrations, “Wild Abandoning” brings together organic percussion, atmospheric soundscapes, and raw vocal ornamentation. The result is an immersive piece that Hartgrove describes as a form of modern sonic medicine.
At its core, the track is a statement about ultimate autonomy and honoring life’s tide, encouraging surrender to personal transformation rather than resistance to it.
Hartgrove draws inspiration from ancient spiritual practices, nature, and her own experiences, shaping these influences into a sound that moves between the ethereal and the soulful. Her creative practice extends beyond music: she is a self-producing vocalist and belly dancer who also hosts sound ceremonies both in person and online.
“Wild Abandoning” marks another chapter in Hartgrove’s evolving musical practice, following her previous projects Insatiable (2017) and Levitate (2018). Through her work, she continues to explore the relationship between the physical and metaphysical, using sound as a medium for expression, reflection, and connection.
