Shyboi Thirsty Turns Heartbreak Into Raw Confession on New Single “Buss My Babe”

Nigerian singer-songwriter Shyboi Thirsty returns with his emotionally charged new single, “Buss My Babe,” a deeply introspective Afro-fusion record that explores the complexities of love, betrayal, distance, and emotional exhaustion.

Released on April 3, 2026, the single further showcases Shyboi Thirsty’s ability to blend vulnerability, street honesty, and melodic storytelling into music that resonates with listeners navigating the realities of modern relationships. Built around conversational lyrics and expressive Afro-fusion melodies, “Buss My Babe” captures the painful experience of trying to hold onto someone while gradually falling apart emotionally.

On the record, the artist leans unapologetically into raw honesty. Lyrics such as “I no fit die for you in this life” and “Dem don go buss my babe” reflect themes of heartbreak, disappointment, and the difficult balance between love and self-preservation. Rather than masking emotional pain behind idealised romance, the song embraces imperfection and emotional conflict, creating an authentic and relatable listening experience.

Musically, “Buss My Babe” combines atmospheric Afro-fusion production with introspective songwriting, resulting in a sound that is intimate, moody, and deeply human. Through emotionally vulnerable storytelling and culturally rooted expression, Shyboi Thirsty paints a vivid portrait of contemporary love and emotional burnout.

Born Ekponanayain Paul Victor Ben in 1998, Shyboi Thirsty hails from the southern region of Bayelsa State and was born and raised in Port Harcourt. Raised in a Christian household, he discovered his passion for music at an early age, spending his pre-teen years singing and rapping alongside his cousins. For the artist, music quickly became more than a form of entertainment—it became an outlet for self-expression and an escape from personal struggles and the challenges of everyday life.
