Singer-songwriter Taliwhoah is set to release “Get It Up,” an uptempo Afro-fusion single that explores sensuality, femininity and the freedom of embracing one’s desires without restraint.
Built around a dark, hypnotic groove, the track combines Afro-fusion influences with an unapologetically sensual perspective. Its production moves between simmering tension and more expressive musical moments, creating a sound that draws comparisons to the atmospheric styles of PartyNextDoor, Tems, Rihanna and Don Toliver.
On “Get It Up,” Taliwhoah steps into a more unfiltered phase of her artistic expression, confronting thoughts and desires she has previously kept private. The release reflects a growing willingness to use her voice without allowing shame or expectations to dictate what she can express.
“I feel like I’ve entered a stage in my life where I am owning the dark side of my femininity,” Taliwhoah explains. “As I get older, using my voice has felt a lot like me saying all the things that are on my mind and not filtering them out of shame.”
She further describes the single as an expression of her sensual thoughts and a decision to become more comfortable saying them out loud.
With “Get It Up,” Taliwhoah presents a more personal dimension of her artistry, bringing themes of self-ownership and uninhibited expression into an Afro-fusion soundscape.
The single is scheduled for release across major streaming platforms on September 9, 2026.
