West London Artist Diamantina Celebrates Romance and Self-Worth on Afrobeat-Inspired Single “Sweet Sweet Music”

West London artist Diamantina returns with “Sweet Sweet Music,” an Afrobeat-inspired track exploring romance, attraction and the freedom to embrace new connections without compromising personal independence. The single is the latest release from her forthcoming EP, Sovereign, a project centred on reclaiming creative freedom and defining life on her own terms.

Following the self-empowerment message of “Wish Me Better,” Diamantina explores a softer, more playful side of her artistic identity. “Sweet Sweet Music” captures the excitement of opening up to pleasure, chemistry and romantic possibility while remaining grounded in self-worth. Rather than presenting independence and intimacy as opposing forces, the track considers how both can coexist.

The single was recorded in Bali earlier this year, during a period of personal and creative change for Diamantina. Travelling alone on a one-way ticket, she embraced the opportunity to explore, create and follow her intuition without needing a fixed destination or plan.

“Taking that one-way ticket to Bali felt like reclaiming a part of myself. I gave myself permission to be free, explore and create without needing to know exactly where I was going,” she says.

That experience became a catalyst for much of the material on Sovereign, informing a body of work shaped by personal freedom, self-discovery and creative independence. On “Sweet Sweet Music,” those themes meet the pleasures of romantic connection, resulting in a track that celebrates vulnerability without surrendering autonomy.

Producer Roy Matzis, Diamantina’s credited collaborator on the project, produced the entire Sovereign EP, including the new single. Their collaboration brings cohesion to the project’s sound, combining warmth, rhythm and sensuality with the emotional honesty at the heart of Diamantina’s songwriting.

With “Sweet Sweet Music,” Diamantina continues to develop the world of Sovereign, balancing the confidence of self-reclamation with the openness required to welcome new experiences. The single offers a glimpse into an EP shaped by the freedom to explore relationships, identity and creativity without losing sight of oneself.
