Q2 2025 was an emphatic reminder that Nigerian youth culture is not just thriving—it’s exporting. At Upper Entertainment, we’ve long observed the rise of collectives redefining the party and cultural scene in Lagos, but this quarter, Vogue Boys took the momentum global.
In April, the collective returned to Lagos’ Freedom Park for the fifth edition of their annual Easter Cookout—a now-ritualized fusion of water-park music festival and youth-led energy. But it was in June that the movement truly crossed borders.
On June 10th, Vogue Boys introduced over 1,000 Italians to the spirit of Lagos at Triennale Milano, Italy’s most important design museum. Billed as a special stage at the Hyperlocal Club Victoria Island event, the night brought together a stellar roster of Nigerian DJs including SL THE DJ, XNIA, Grey93, and Ademola Falomo, alongside Julrity (Barcelona-based), Ebuka Nwobu, and the collective’s now-iconic masquerade. Milan—a city better known for high fashion and historical calm—reverberated with Afrobeats, house, and gqom until dawn.
Two weeks later, the journey continued to Paris Fashion Week, where Vogue Boys gifted the city with the international debut of their signature event, DIRTY, SEXY RAVE. Held on the 24th of June, the experience drew a crowd that exceeded RSVP capacity within the first hour—testament to the anticipation surrounding the brand’s European landing.
Personalities like Young Jonn, Cruel Santino, Lady Donli, Rahman Jago, and Joey Lit of Free The Youth were spotted dancing in a curated sonic melting pot helmed by DJs from Paris (Dre Tala, Carla Genus), London (Vivendii Sound, Jeenius), Johannesburg (Xzavier Zulu), and Lagos (Yosa, Aniko). The result? An intercontinental rave that reasserted Nigeria’s soft power through music, fashion, and experience-led storytelling.
These summer activations signal something larger than a party series. Vogue Boys are crafting a blueprint for cultural export rooted in authenticity, and their moves in Europe further validate Nigerian youth culture as a force with global value.
The next chapter of their journey returns to home soil, with events lined up across Nigerian cities from July to December. As always, the cultural temperature continues to rise—and we’ll be watching.
