Rabbai and XnoteOrious Explore Addiction and Desire on New Single “Jane Doe”

Nigerian rising artists Rabbai and XnoteOrious reunite on “Jane Doe,” a new collaborative single that explores the complicated relationship between addiction, desire and emotional attachment. Scheduled for release on November 13, 2026, via independent Nigerian label Same House Records, the track combines infectious Afrobeats rhythms with smooth R&B influences.

At its core, “Jane Doe” is a deeply personal record inspired by the emotional struggles associated with addiction. What began as an attempt to process difficult feelings developed into a song examining the tension between pleasure and pain, attraction and resistance, and the difficulty of walking away from something that continues to exert a powerful hold.

Rather than approaching addiction from a conventional perspective, Rabbai and XnoteOrious use melody, rhythm and storytelling to explore its emotional complexities. The deliberately ambiguous identity of Jane Doe also leaves room for interpretation, allowing listeners to connect the song’s themes to romantic relationships, personal habits or experiences they find difficult to escape.

Marking their third collaboration, “Jane Doe” further highlights the musical chemistry between the two artists. Their complementary approaches bring different emotional perspectives to the record, balancing vulnerability and infectious melodies with contemporary African rhythms.

The release also represents another step in their creative relationship with Same House Records, an emerging independent label focused on developing distinctive sounds and supporting the next generation of Nigerian musical talent.

With “Jane Doe,” Rabbai and XnoteOrious contribute to a growing wave of Nigerian artists embracing emotional vulnerability and more personal storytelling within contemporary Afrobeats.

The single will be available on all major streaming platforms from November 13, 2026.
