Nigerian producer and recording artist Mage the Producer, born Orhue Moses Odia, is bringing his solo artistry into sharper focus, building on a production career that has connected him with prominent names across Afrobeats, R&B and electronic music.
Born in Edo State, Mage is shifting attention toward his independent catalogue, showcasing a creative identity that extends beyond his work behind the scenes. His releases include “AZAMAN,” featuring Vsagz and Boy Mullar, “All for You,” featuring Khaid and Teo iD, and “Confess,” an atmospheric groove featuring Kurry. Together, the records highlight his versatility as an artist and his ability to move between different sounds and musical influences.
Mage’s approach draws on African musical elements while incorporating contemporary pop, R&B and electronic production. Rather than confining himself to a single genre, he builds records around the interplay of rhythm, melody and modern production, bringing African influences into a broader musical context.
His transition toward front-facing artistry builds on an established production background. Mage is credited with production work on Libianca’s global hit “People,” which reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart and Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats chart. His wider credits include work with Omah Lay, Ayra Starr, Khaid and Becky G, alongside cross-genre collaborations involving electronic music artist Fred again.. and Winny.
While his production credits have placed him in the creative process behind other artists’ records, his independent releases provide a platform for a more direct expression of his own musical perspective.
“I’ve spent a lot of time shaping major records for other people, but putting my own creative ideas out there is where my heart is,” says Mage. “As a producer-artist, I’m just trying to build a world where authentic African sounds can completely live in the spotlight on their own terms.”
With “AZAMAN,” “All for You” and “Confess,” Mage the Producer is positioning his independent catalogue as a central part of his career, bringing together his technical experience, cross-genre sensibility and artistic ambitions in a growing body of solo work.
His next chapter places the producer and the artist on equal footing, with his own releases offering a clearer view of the sound and creative vision he intends to build.
