Cotonou, Benin — April 29, 2026 — Beninese acoustic ensemble Duo Landry+ present “Je Rêve,” a standout track from their second album, Mɛn lǒnu, released on February 9, 2024. Sung in both French and Fongbé—the widely spoken language of southern Benin—the song reflects the duo’s commitment to preserving tradition while delivering universal messages through music.
Formed in 2016 at the French Institute of Benin, Duo Landry+ bring together two complementary talents: Landry Padonou (clarinet, saxophone, flute, composer) and Landry Magnidet Dannon (guitarist, singer-songwriter). Their music seamlessly fuses modern acoustic elements with traditional Beninese rhythms, creating a vibrant sonic experience that transports listeners to the heart of Benin’s rich musical landscape.
“Je Rêve” embodies the duo’s signature storytelling approach—songs rooted in heritage, wisdom, and social consciousness. Across their catalogue, Duo Landry+ explore themes of love, hope, courage, women’s empowerment, education, and lived personal experiences.
Following their debut album Aflimi (2018) and a run of five singles released in 2023—“Mɛn lǒnu,” “Ce Náwa,” “Asúkúsi,” “Je Rêve,” and “Mobilisons-Nous”—Mɛn lǒnu marks a refined chapter in their artistic journey. Their work is now available on more than 150 streaming platforms worldwide.
Beyond recording, Duo Landry+ are deeply invested in youth engagement and cultural education, regularly touring colleges, high schools, and universities across Benin to raise awareness through music.
For live performances, the duo expands into a quartet, joined by Jésugnon Crépin Togbé, a guitarist known for accompanying prominent Beninese artists and performing at festivals across Benin and Togo, and Jésugo Samuel Sounouvo, a seasoned percussionist with experience in respected Beninese orchestras.
