Emerging from the vibrant city of Akwa Ibom, Nigeria, Abraham Emmanuel Obot, professionally known as Kenduu, is making waves with his distinctive blend of Afro beats, Pop, and Afro-pop. Kendu’s musical journey began in 2012 after being inspired by a fellow student at British Nigerian Academy who showed that building a music career was not a herculean task.
Inspired by Jon Bellion, MI Abaga, Lauv, and Justin Bieber, Kenduu’s music is a delightful mix of vanilla bubblegum sweetness, heartfelt passion, and sad melancholy. His stage name is a play on his native name “Kendu” with an extra ‘u’, perfectly capturing the exaggerated but fiery essence of his music.
My style of music is distinct, not just because of the things I say, how I say them and my voice. It’s because of my journey with music. I actually used to be a rapper by the stage name Talksiick.” – Kenduu

The independent labelled artist is gearing up to release an eagerly anticipated EP, following the success of his previous projects, “Intalksiickated” in 2016 and the 2020 hit EP “Love is Siick,” which peaked at number 6 on Apple Music Nigeria’s all-genres album chart during the Covid pandemic. These feats have put Kenduu’s unique selling points in the spotlight and showed his distinctive perspective, vocal prowess, and the emotional depth of his lyrics.

“One of my greatest desires is to keep making memorable music that crosses global borders and transcends my existence. I realised this after losing someone dear to my heart, it made me understand that anything can happen at any time, life isn’t guaranteed but I want my music to be timeless….” – Kenduu
His other achievements in recent times include co-writing songs for notable artists, with his work on CKay’s “DTF” reaching the Billboard charts. Also, his collaboration on “Young Preacher” contributed to the album winning the Rap Album of the Year at the 2023 Headies Awards.
Beyond the music, Kenduu is fascinated by football and actively supports social reform initiatives that curb misogyny. He also enjoys playing video games and watching movies.
