Oluwakayode Oyetoro, fondly known as KAYODE or “Kay-Kay” is a Talented Emo-trap artist who pours out his emotions on trap beats and delivers melodies that will have listeners blown away. His break came in 2021, with the emo-trap single “live forever” which went viral and was trending on Tik-tok for months. “Live Forever” has garnered over 300,000 impressions on Tik-tok and over 285k views on Youtube.
Similar to many, Kayode picked up his love for music In Church and learned the basics of making music on the Piano. He discovered his love for music at age 12, and began composing songs at 13. His first single “Confession” was released in 2019. According to the trapper, his craft was influenced by the likes of Wizkid, Mo hits, and Lil Wayne.
Kayode is a versatile artiste. The singer is not subjected to the school of thought that believes an artist should stick to one genre, as he could pull up without with sounds from different genres like Afropop, Drill, Trap, which all are determined by his feelings. Kay-kay was once asked on the inspiration behind his hit single “live forever” and he revealed the record came to him as easily as it sounds and was birthed by images of a good time out clubbing and the euphoric feel of riding in a Beamer on Third Mainland Bridge long after rush hours.
The artiste has been co-signed and endorsed by a couple of OGs in the game like Reminisce. Post ‘live forever’, Kay has gone on to drop songs like ‘Blessed’, ‘I don’t want your love’ and recently, ‘Superstar’ the latter was produced by Godomar. He has also been able to grace the stage of some of the top events in Lagos like Mainland and Island block party, Homecoming and a couple more. He also was one of the lineup acts at Bella Shmurda’s recent gig at Ibadan.
