Born and raised in Ghana and the UK, Sofie is a Talented Ghanaian singer, songwriter, and producer. She blends West African instruments and rhythms to create a cross-border, soulful, R&B-driven sound.
Throughout her career, Sofie believes it is crucial to use her position to inspire positive change and bring attention to issues that are essential in the world. Sofie has put out three EPs and several singles over her career. “Overdue,” Sofie’s most recent single, was released in October 2024. Her last project is titled ‘Leo Sun’ which she recently released.
The rising star career highlights include playing the main stage at the Chalewote festival in Accra, opening for Stonebwoy at the Palladium in New York City, performing at the African Diaspora Homecoming Gala night commemorating Ghana’s 60th anniversary of independence, and participating in the “Women of Color celebration with a hip hop ensemble in Boston – rapping with the American Hip Hop Recording Artist Yo-Yo.
Playing several headline gigs in LA, Accra, Boston, and Oxford, as well as serving as the opening act for the “Afrobeats to the World” concert at the PlayStation theater in Times Square, New York City. In May 2021, Sofie received her degree from Berklee College of Music. She continues to pursue her singing career in Los Angeles, California, where she currently resides.
Her debut mixtape, “Leo Sun” features “Krobo Princess, Party Pooper, Falling In Love, Fame, and a host of other singles released in 2024 that exhibit Sofie’s artistic range. Fused with R&B, pop, and Afrobeats elements, the mixtape sings on the themes of relationships and self-love.
